Welcome aboard the Maritime Museum of San Diego! Experience a world-class collection of historic sailing ships, steam-powered boats, and submarine. The Museum's impressive fleet includes the world's oldest active ship Star of India, 18th century Navy frigate replica, the H.M.S Surprise, featured in the Academy Award-winning film "Master and Commander," the 1898 steam ferry Berkeley, the 1904 steam yacht Medea, and the USS Dolphin submarine. Onboard each vessel you will find fascinating maritime history exhibits, with naval history told through Naval History displays featuring aircraft carrier ship models, medals, photography and artifacts, model and art gallery, and gift shop. Visitors may add only $10.00 to admission to enjoy narrated 1914 Pilot boat bay cruise on San Diego Bay or $24.00 to experience a weekends only 75-minute Naval History Bay tour aboard the Vietnam-era US Navy PCF 816 Swift boat. On most weekends, the Maritime Museum hosts public day sails aboard the topsail Schooner Californian, a replica of the 1847 Revenue Cutter C.W. Lawrence, awarded the State of California Official Tall Ship title and the 16th-century Spanish galleon replica San Salvador (Sailing tickets are sold separately and also include general admission.
